Sabro | Hop Sensory Analysis With Oil Creek Brewing

Sabro, previously known as HBC 438, comes in around 17% alpha acids. This most recent batch is super oily which really helps bring out its flavors and aromas.

Aromas of grass, coconut, and cream are very present in this batch. In my previous uses, l’ve gotten flavors of cream and sweet fruit. This variety would be great in wheat beers, hazy ipas, and cold IPAs. I’d love to try this in a dark beer and pull out those flavors of cream!

Sabro was released to the public under its experimental name so it’s a fairly newer variety. This hop is underutilized, in my opinion, and can really add a different hop complexity to your beers. You should give it a try today!
