HBC 1134 | Hop Sensory Analysis With Oil Creek Brewing

HBC 1134 – This experimental variety comes in at 5.6% Alpha Acids and I think could become an American lager beer hop. While alpha acids in Europe are dropping, the Pacific Northwest grown varieties aren’t seeing as substantial of drops.

HBC 1134 is woody/earthy with a hint of apricot on the nose.

It lends itself to similar flavors which really would do well in American Lagers, Pilsners and blonde ales. You should check this hop out soon if you haven’t already. This is potentially on the dock for a lager in my future for sure!
