Coming in at 6.2% AA this variety is one of the more unique aromas l’ve gotten. Fruity Pebbles! It’s pretty intense too. Some of the other aromas are mint with some spice. Like menthol. This variety would be excellent in a wheat beer, IPA, lager and especially a dry hopped sour. The flavors are said to carry over as well into the finished beer too!
Zappa™ hops are grown exclusively by CLS Farms in the Yakima Valley, but it is a 100% neomexicanus aroma hop that came from the mountains of New Mexico. Evolving independently, Zappa™, has developed its own rebellious aroma and unique flavor characteristics.
Aroma: Passion fruit, mint, spice, tropical fruits, and fruity pebbles.
Genetic origins: Zappa is a native, North American, Humulus lupulus var. neomexicanus, recovered from the wild in New Mexico.
Alpha Range: 4-8%
