Triple Pearl | Hop Sensory Analysis With Oil Creek Brewing

Triple Pearl hops are a dual-purpose hop variety developed by the USDA-ARS in 2013 as an open cross between the triploid Perle and an unknown diploid male, incorporating lineage from Northern Brewer and Hallertau. Typically around 10% – 11% AA this hop is recognized for its aromatic complexity and versatility, making it suitable for various beer styles. This hop would be effective in Pale Ales, IPAs, Lagers & Pilsners.

Triple Pearl hops offer a distinctive aroma characterized by:
Resinous: Light pine resin undertones
Citrus: Prominent notes of orange and lime zest.
Melon: Subtle hints of honeydew and other melon varieties.
Spicy: A touch of black pepper and cedarwood.

The flavor profile of Triple Pearl is well-balanced, featuring:
Melon: A delicate melon undertone adds complexity
Citrus: Sweet orange peel and lime zest.
Spicy: Black pepper and pine.
